Palomárez Out at Hispanic Chamber
Yesterday, we told you about the NYT’s reports that Javier Palomárez, the President and CEO of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC), was facing accusations of sexual harassment and financial impropriety. Well, late last night, the USHCC Board of Directors issued a statement announcing that, “after much deliberation and careful consideration for the future of the USHCC,” Palomárez would leave the organization effective immediately. A Governance Committee has been appointed to oversee leadership changes, and an interim Chief Operating Officer will be named to lead the transition along with the Board of Directors and Chamber staff. While the announcement of his departure was made yesterday, we hear that the decision was made Sunday night. More here.
