Local TV Personality Launches Congressional Bid

Local Houston TV personality Nyanza Moore is throwing her hat in the ring of Democratic contenders hoping to unseat incumbent Congressman Pete Olson (R-TX). She says the face of Texas’ 22nd Congressional District has changed, and “we need a representative in Congress that reflects that change.” She added, “I have developed an understanding of cultural differences that allows me to understand the need for policies that celebrate diversity while emphasizing inclusion.” The 46-year-old attorney appears as a legal expert and commentator on the local Fox station. The Texas A&M University graduate completed law school at Texas Southern University and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. We told you yesterday that Sri Kulkarni, an ex-foreign service officer, also announced his candidacy. So far these two are the only contenders in the primary. Kulkarni came within five points of unseating Olson last cycle. More about Nyanza here.
