Ford Foundation Appoints VP, General Counsel

The Ford Foundation has announced Nishka Chandrasoma as its next VP, Secretary, and General Counsel. In her new role, she’ll be responsible for Responsible for managing the overall legal affairs of the foundation relating to its governance, grantmaking, global operations, and investments. Chandrasoma most recently served as Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary to the foundation’s Board of Directors, where she provided legal representation and oversight of the Office of Legal Services and the Office of the Secretary. Prior to that, she was an Associate at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP, where she advised tax-exempt and charitable organizations. Chandrasoma previously worked as a Legal Consultant at The Global Fund and Associate Editor at the Oxford University Press. The 2000 UC Berkeley graduate earned her law degree from Yale University.
