LA Times Adds Deputy Managing Editor

The Los Angeles Times has named Shani Hilton as Deputy Managing Editor for news. In her new role, she’ll work on digital strategy, newsroom operations, events, budgets, video programming, and recruiting. Hilton is currently the VP of News and Programming at BuzzFeed News, where she oversees news programming and U.S.-based news operations --  including AM to DM on Twitter and PROFILE on Facebook Watch. Prior to joining BuzzFeed, Hilton held editorial roles at the Center for American Progress, Washington City Paper, and NBC4/WRC-TV in DC. The 2006 Howard University graduate began her career as a Communications Consultant at Princeton University. Hilton starts her new role on June 3rd and will be based in LA. More here
