Presidential contender Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) on Monday announced several new top hires, including two people of color. Lucinda Ware has joined the Klobuchar campaign as National Political Director. She was most recently a VP at SWAY -- a strategic communications and multimedia production company -- where she helped first-time and experienced candidates alike chart a path to electoral victory, while providing strategic guidance to labor unions, nonprofits, and companies. Before this, she was the Director of Outreach for now-presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg’s DNC Chair bid. The Dillard University graduate, who has a Master’s from the University of Baltimore, previously served as Political and Outreach Director for Chris Van Hollen’s Senate campaign; as the Director of Civic Engagement under then-Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake in Baltimore; and worked closely with Maryland Lt. Governor (now-Congressman) Anthony Brown. Ware got her start in politics as a White House Intern, working in the Office of the Public Liaison during the Clinton administration. Anjan Mukherjee is now the Research Director for the Klobuchar campaign who most recently served in the same capacity for the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee. The Davidson College graduate was also previously the Research Director for the League of Conservation Voters and the senatorial re-election campaign for Chris Coons. Mukherjee also served as a Research Assistant for DE Senator Coons, the DSCC, and New Partners Consulting. Also joining the Klobuchar campaign was Mike McLaughlin as National Field Director and Tim Hogan as Communications Director.
