Peabody Entertainment Winners Announced

The University of Georgia Peabody Awards have announced a diverse slate of Entertainment winners. Project winners include Killing Eve for BBC AMERICA, a spy thriller led by Sandra OhPatriot Act with Hasan Minhaj on Netflix, the first Indian American and Muslim late-night host; and FX Networks’ Pose, the story of trans and gay people of color set in 1980s NYC. Other categories will be announced later this week. Some of the diverse nominees in pending categories include Univisión’s Aquí y Ahora: The Faces of the Immigration CrisisFrontline PBS’s Separated: Children at the Border; and $2 Tests: Bad Arrests, from WAGA-TV FOX 5 in Atlanta, were nominated in the News category, as well as film projects from Independent Lens, Dolores and I Am Not Your Negro; Agusta Films’ The Rape of Recy Taylor; and Netflix’s Shirkers, among others.
