For years the image of who drives change in our democracy has reflected an old narrative of straight white men in smoky rooms.

The Beat DC blows through that trope.

We’re the only daily political news platform that highlights the people of color driving policy in the nation’s capital and beyond, and the policies that impact communities of color at large.

Sunny Hostin to Host New Crime Series

Sunny Hostin to Host New Crime Series

The View’s Sunny Hostin is set to host and executive produce a new crime series on Investigation Discovery this fall. The Whole Truth With Sunny Hostin is a six-episode documentary series that will follow Hostin as she travels across the U.S to explore the stories behind some of the nation’s most notorious homicides, with a focus on the viewpoint of the victims of a crime. In each hour, the Notre Dame Law School grad and former federal prosecutor will examine the evidence with law enforcement and forensic experts who were first assigned to the case, connect with prosecutors and defense attorneys, and show viewers how evidence is gathered and the trial process. The 50-year-old Bronx native brings a unique perspective show having witnessed two crimes against own family members -- experiences which she says fueled her drive to pursue justice. "Becoming a part of the Investigation Discovery family has been a dream come true for me," said Hostin. "I have spent my career trying to tell the stories of the voiceless and the forgotten and being able to use what I have learned during my career as a federal prosecutor and my passion for journalism and storytelling to shed light on these complex, multi-dimensional and powerful cases is an opportunity of a lifetime." More here
