The 2008 Tougaloo College graduate earned her Master’s at the University of Phoenix. Rachana Desai Martin has been promoted to COO -- a role she has been filling on an interim basis -- where she will oversee the DNC’s operational and administrative infrastructure. Rachana most recently was the Director of Voter Protection and Civic Engagement, where she oversaw the Party’s national voter protection efforts. Prior to that, she served as Senior Federal Policy Counsel at the Center for Reproductive Rights. Rachana held multiple roles under the Obama administration including as Counsel at the Treasury Department and as Special Assistant to the Secretary at the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
