Gap Sans Old Navy Equals New Fortune 500 CEO

Old Navy announced that it will spin off from parent company Gap, Inc. into its own publicly traded company. This move would make Sonia Syngal, the President CEO of Old Navy, the latest Fortune 500 CEO. There are currently only 27 women CEOs are among the Fortune 500 and just six are women of color -- soon seven. Syngal has worked for Gap, Inc. for 15 years, serving in leadership roles across Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Athleta, and Intermix. She was previously the EVP of Global Supply Chain and Product Operations; EVP of Global Supply Chain; SVP of Old Navy International; SVP and Managing Director of Europe; SVP and General Manager for International Outlets; VP of Global Production, Supply Chain; and VP of Corporate Sourcing. Syngal also worked for Ford Motor Co. and Sun Microsystems Inc. The 1993 Kettering University graduate earned her Master’s at Stanford University. More here.
