Barack Obama Heads Back to Spain
Former President Barack Obama will headline the World Travel & Tourism Council's Global Summit in Seville, Spain. The theme of the summit is 'Changemakers' to celebrate people and ideas who are defining the future of the sector. "During his time in office he embodied the notion that Travel & Tourism is a driver of economic growth and creator of jobs,” said Gloria Guevara, President and CEO of WTTC. The Summit will be held between April 2nd and April 4th. Obama’s last jaunt to Spain was in 2018 when he went to Madrid to speak at the International Summit on Technological Innovation and Circular Economy. During that trip, Obama met with Spain Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. POTUS44 also spent time with King Felipe VI of Spain. The two privately visited the Queen Sofía National Art Centre Museum, which garnered quite the attention. King Felipe gifted Obama with a book relating to Pablo Picasso’s "El Guernica" with a message that read, “To President Barack Obama, as a testimony of my friendship and affection and in remembrance of our shared visit to the Guernica painting, a timeless icon of the most universal art.” We’ll keep you posted on any color from this year’s trip.
