In her new role, she’ll develop overall communication strategy for the Caucus, and serve as the primary spokesperson for CBC Chair Karen Bass (D-CA). Brown most recently served as Press Secretary for House Democratic Policy & Communication Committee, where she executed proactive and aggressive national messaging strategy for House Democrats. Prior to that, she served as Press Secretary for Congressman Bobby Scott (D-VA) where she was responsible for strategic communication plans for media and constituent engagement. Before that, Brown worked as a Legislative/Communications Assistant and as a Legislative Assistant in Scott’s office. The 2012Hampton University graduate earned her Master’s degree at Georgetown University. “I’m excited to work with new stakeholders and increase awareness of the CBC’s accomplishments,” Brown said. “We are 55 members strong and we’re working hard to deliver for the African American community.” More here.
