Michelle Obama Announces Moderators for Last Leg of Book Tour
Former First Lady Michelle Obama has announced a new slate of moderators for the last leg of her book tour. After selling more than 3 million copies of Becoming, she kicked off the 2019 leg on February 8th in Takoma, WA. The final leg starts on March 13th in St. Paul, MN where FLOTUS44 will be joined by radio journalist Michele Norris. The following day, Obama will visit Milwaukee for an appearance moderated by talk show host Conan O'Brien. ABC Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts will join Obama for two appearances in Canada, and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel will moderate an event in Tacoma, WA. CBS This Morning's Gayle King will join Obama in Atlanta on May 11th. Rachael Ray is scheduled to appear with Obama in Copenhagen, one of six European stops on the tour. An appearance in London will be moderated by CBS Late Show host Stephen Colbert, who will also join Obama for her last tour date in Nashville on May 12th. Other hosts slated to appear with Obama include 2 Dope Queens' Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson, Carla Hall, Sam Kass, Isha Sesay, and Valerie Jarrett. “I’ve been so humbled by the response to the tour thus far and the overwhelming interest we’ve received from so many communities we weren’t able to visit this year,” Obama said in advance of kicking off the 2019 tour. “That’s why I’m thrilled that we’re able to expand our conversations to these new settings and wider audiences.
