Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) has tapped Joleen Rivera as her Legislative Director and Chief Counsel. Rivera most recently served in Cortez Masto’s office as Legislative Counsel, where she handled the Senator’s immigration, civil rights, human trafficking, and labor portfolios. Prior to that, she was an Immigration & Civil Rights Legislative Representative for AFL-CIO, Legislative Assistant and Legislative Director for Congresswoman Judy Chu (D-CA). She also previously served as a Consultant & Legislative Associate at the Women's Refugee Commission. The bilingual attorney -- who is fluent in English and Spanish -- also worked closely with immigrant families across the state of New York and the federal government.
