Emilio Méndez has been promoted to Legislative Director in the office of Congressman Lou Correa (D-CA). He was previously a Senior Legislative Assistant in Correa’s office, where he focused on the Congressman's health portfolio. He also served as a Legislative Correspondent and Legislative Assistant for then-CA Congressman Xavier Becerra, and as a Press Assistant and Staff Assistant in Congressman Matt Cartwright's (D-PA) office. The 2012 Georgetown University graduate is fluent in English and Spanish. Alejandro Renteria, the former Legislative Director for Correa, has become the Legislative Director for Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (D-IL). Prior to working in Correa’s office, Renteria was a Stennis Fellow at the Stennis Center for Public Service, Legislative Aide to former NV Senator Harry Reid, and volunteer on Senator Catherine Cortez Masto’s (D-NV) 2016 senatorial campaign. He is a member of the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association. The 2011 San Diego State University is also fluent in English and Spanish.
