Tesla Board Adds Kathleen Wilson-Thompson
Kathleen Wilson-Thompson has joined Tesla’s Board of Directors. Wilson-Thompson is currently an SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer for Walgreens. Prior to joining Walgreens in 2010, she held several positions for Kellogg and left the company as SVP of Global Human Resources. She also worked as VP and Litigation and Banking Law Counsel for Michigan National Corporation. The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor graduate also holds a law degree and a Master of Laws in corporate and finance, both from Wayne State University in Detroit. Wilson-Thompson is also on the Vulcan Materials Company’s Board of Directors and serves on the NAACP Special Contributions Fund Board of Trustees. Tesla also added Oracle founder Larry Ellison, an ally of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, to its Board. The appointments are a part of an SEC settlement, which was prompted by Musk’s controversial tweet which stated that he had secured funding for a private takeover of the company at $420 per square. This sparked a disagreement between the company and Musk, who then had to step down as Chairman and pay a $20 million fine as per the SEC agreement. More here.
