Mónica Sánchez has joined the House Natural Resources Committee Democrats as Deputy Communications Director. The Brown University graduate has worked on Capitol Hill since 2013, most recently serving as the Digital Press Secretary for Senator Martin Heinrich (D-NM). Prior to that, she was a Legislative Aide and Special Projects Director for Congressman Ben Ray Luján (D-NM). In her new position, she will work closely with the Committee’s Ranking MemberCongressman Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ). “I just think he is an amazing member, and the issues he is fighting for are so important," the 26-year-old said. The New Mexico native arrived in DC in 2013 as a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute fellow. She replaced Diane Padilla on the Natural Resources Committee who left the post in June. More about Sánchez here.
