USHCC Names New President and CEO
Ramiro Cavazos, President and CEO of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, has been chosen as the next President and CEO of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC). Before his time with the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, he served as the Director of Economic Development for the City of San Antonio, as well as the Director of Research and Economic Development for the UT Health Science Center. Before that, the University of Texas graduate, who has a Master’s from St. Mary’s University, was the Global Public Affairs Manager for the Levi Strauss Foundation in Texas, Mexico, and Latin America. A native of Weslaco in the Rio Grande Valley, he is a 7th generation Texan. USHCC has not formally announced Cavazos’ hire, but the San Antonio board President announced that he had been asked to take the helm of the national organization. Cavazos will succeed Javier Palomárez, who resigned amid accusations of financial and sexual improprieties in February. More here.
