Hamed Aleaziz to Join BuzzFeed's Immigration Team
Hamed Aleaziz will join BuzzFeed News, where he’ll cover immigration and national security. He previously served as a reporter at the San Francisco Chronicle, covering immigration, race, civil rights, and breaking news. Prior to that, the 2009 University of Oregon graduate, who also studied abroad in Amman, Jordan, was a criminal justice reporter at the Daily Journal, and before that spent three months in DC at the Center for American Progress as a national security blogger and reporter. The bilingual journalist, who is fluent in English and Persian, was also an Editorial Fellow at Mother Jones, where he wrote about restrictive voting laws in the U.S., and the 2011 Syrian civil war uprising. He starts his new role later this month and will be based in San Francisco. More here.
