Black Government Relations Professionals Honors Kamala Harris, Joyce Beatty, and The Beat DC
The Washington Government Relations Group, a non-partisan organization dedicated to the enrichment of African American government relations professionals, announced their slate of honorees for their annual Annual Tin Cup Awards Dinner. The ladies and gentlemen who are honored embody leadership in their fields for their proven commitment to diversity. Receiving the Adam Clayton Powell Award will beSenator Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (D-OH). The Augustus F. Hawkins Award will be presented to The Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. The Reginald “Reg” Gilliam Award will be presented to The Bockorny Group’s Nicole Venable and Comcast's Earle Jones. The President’s Award for Career Achievement will be presented to Microsoft’s Stephanie Peters. And the Lucile Harris Buford Award for Diversity in Media will be presented to The Beat DC’s Tiffany D. Cross. Proceeds from the July 25th dinner benefits minority students preparing to pursue full-time undergraduate studies or currently enrolled as a full-time student in good academic standing at an accredited college or university and majoring in such fields as political science or public administration.
