Kamala Harris Inducted into The Links
Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) has been inducted into The Links -- one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry. During a ceremony in downtown Los Angeles on April 6th, Dr. Glenda Newell-Harris, The Links national President, joined with nearly 300 Links from throughout the country to welcome Harris as one of the group’s 15,000+ members. “This is a true honor. This is an organization that for decades has been dedicated to Black women and Black professional women and dedicated to service and the service to others,” Harris said. “When I think of [being] a Link, [I think of] so many amazing women. I stand on their shoulders and I can’t wait to work in service with you. When we are connected together, we are stronger as individuals, we are stronger as a community and we are stronger as a country.” More here.
