G. K. Butterfield Names Chief of Staff 

Congressman G. K. Butterfield (D-NC) has named Kendra Brown as his Chief of Staff. She was most recently the Senior Director for Diversity, Inclusion, and Affinity at American University Washington College of Law. Prior to that, Brown was the Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director for Congressman Dwight Evans (D-PA), and also served as Policy Director for the Congressional Black Caucus under then-Chairman Butterfield. Brown has also previously worked as Associate Legislative Counsel for Earthjustice, Special Assistant & Counsel to Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), and National Chair of the National Black Law Students Association. The Hampton University graduate is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and holds two Master’s -- one from Howard University and another from George Washington University. She is also a graduate of Vermont Law School. More about her here
