Politico Names New WH Correspondent

Anita Kumar is joining Politico as a White House Correspondent and Associate Editor. In her new role, she’ll cover Donald Trump’s re-election campaign and help guide Politico’sWhite House coverage. Kumar is currently a WH Correspondent for McClatchy. The Charlottesville, VA native previously worked at The Washington Post as a Reporter, where she covered Virginia politics and government. Prior to that, Kumar was a Reporter at the St. Petersburg Times where, for nearly a decade, she wrote about the local, state, and federal governments in both Florida and DC. Earlier this year, Kumar became the first Indian American to be elected to the Board of the White House Correspondents Association. The University of Virginia graduate has also worked at the News & Advance in Lynchburg, VA and the News & Record in Greensboro, NC. More about her here.
