Ninio Fetalvo is leaving his role as Assistant White House Press Secretary to serve as the Deputy Director of Communications at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The son of Filipino immigrants previously held various roles at the RNC, including time as Florida Communications Director, Asian Pacific American Press Secretary, Deputy Director of Media Affairs, and California Deputy Press Secretary, among others. During the 2016 Republican National Convention, the George Washington University graduate served as the Deputy Director of Media Affairs. The Southwest Florida native speaks Bikol, English, and Tagalog. He joins the agency as the national debate over Medicare-for-All grips both parties on the campaign trail. A large number of Democrats are backing the idea, as do a majority of Americans. However, CMS Administrator Seema Verma says it would be a multi-trillion dollar drain on the economy. More about Fetalvo here.
