HuffPost Names Director of Enterprise
Richard Kim is joining HuffPost as Director of Enterprise, where he'll oversee enterprise editors and reporters as well as the personal and opinion sections. He has spent the last 11 years at The Nation where he currently serves as the Executive Editor. The 1997 Yale grad pursued a graduate degree at New York University, where he later taught while blogging for The Nation. Kim started as a beat reporter on AIDS. He’s now regarded as a strong voice on politics and gay rights. OK. It’s low stakes,” he said. The 42-year-old co-edited the New York Times bestselling anthology Going Rouge: Sarah Palin, An American Nightmare. He has also taught American Studies at NYU and Skidmore. In a 2014 interview Kim was asked what he’d do were he not in journalism. He replied, “I would have been an unhappy adjunct professor living in a small midwestern college town. Left-wing journalism is my sell-out plan -- and that's saying a lot about the crisis in higher education.” He starts in his new role at HuffPost in January 2019.
