Kamala Harris Wants the Administration to Bring the Receipts on Trump’s Claim of Chinese Election Meddling
Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) and two of her Democratic colleagues on the Senate Intelligence Committee want to know whether the actual intelligence backs up Donald Trump’s claims of election meddling by the Chinese. “In addition to providing a public response to [the previous] inquiry, we ask that you address whether the President’s statement on 60 Minutes that China “meddled” in the 2016 U.S. election is consistent with IC assessments,” the Senators wrote. “Please provide additional detail and supporting intelligence publicly to the greatest extent possible, and to Congress to the extent necessary to protect sources and methods.” Senators Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM)joined Harris in the letter, as well as the first letter they sent on October 4th, though they have not received a response to that one from the administration.
