NYT Opinion Adds Kate Elazegui

Kate Elazegui is joining The New York Times as the Design Director for the Opinion section, a newly created position. In her new role, she’ll be tasked with the design and presentation of the Times’ journalism. She previously served as the Creative Director for FiveThirtyEight, the statistics-driven news website best known for its presidential election forecasts. During her five year tenure there, she produced various projects including a series analyzing the 2016 election, a feature on guns and domestic violence, and a list of the best 50 Black athletes. She has worked as the Managing Art Director at Pentagram, and before that held several Director positions at Punch Media, New York Magazine, and Vanity Fair. The 1996 School of the Art Institute of Chicago graduate begins her new role on October 25th. More here.
