FCC Announces New Wireline Advisor

Nirali Patel will now serve as FCC Chair Ajit Pai’s Wireline Advisor. In her new role, Patel will advise Pai on issues covered by the Wireline Competition Bureau and will help lead the FCC’s work on closing the digital divide. Prior to joining Pai’s office in January, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduate -- who received her law degree from the American University Washington College -- served as a Legal Advisor to FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr and as a Deputy Chief in the Competition Policy Division of the Wireline Competition Bureau. Before joining the FCC, Patel worked in private practice at Hogan Lovells US LLP, Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, and Sidley Austin LLP. More about her here.
