For years the image of who drives change in our democracy has reflected an old narrative of straight white men in smoky rooms.

The Beat DC blows through that trope.

We’re the only daily political news platform that highlights the people of color driving policy in the nation’s capital and beyond, and the policies that impact communities of color at large.

Ann Curry to Host New Medical Series

Ann Curry to Host New Medical Series

Former Today show anchor Ann Curry will host and executive produce a new upcoming medical series, M.D. Live. The 61-year-old Guam native currently hosts PBS’ We’ll Meet Again. In this new show, Curry will report on the true stories of medical mysteries in search of a diagnosis by crowdsourcing doctors and patients experiencing similar symptoms. The show will also feature a recurring panel of doctors who will discuss potential diagnoses for patients before asking the live audience for additional feedback, solutions, and support. “We aim to help break down the walls that still stop people from accessing the medical information they need. Harnessing the full power of both television and technology to connect people interactively with doctors all over the world is a step toward a future when we are not limited by where we live or whether we can find the right doctor,” said Curry. “This is a new way of doing things, a new genre of broadcasting and a chance to help people.” The two-hour weekly series is set to premiere in 2019 on TNT. More here.
